Case Study Arteconi CGI & Inspired & Co – Perth Duty Free Visualisation for Avolta
Overview
In Autumn 2023, Arteconi CGI partnered with London-based design studio Inspired & Co to support Avolta's bid to renew and expand its duty-free operations at Perth Airport. The project encompassed the creation of high-fidelity CGI and 3D animations for approximately 3,000 square meters of retail and food & beverage space across Terminals 1 and 3. These visualizations played a pivotal role in Avolta securing a contract extension through 2031, marking a significant milestone in their Asia-Pacific strategy. Moodie Davitt Report
Project Scope & Challenges
Scale & Complexity: The project involved visualizing a large-scale retail environment within a compressed timeline, necessitating efficient workflows and rapid iteration.
Concurrent Design Development: Design elements were evolving alongside the CGI production, requiring Arteconi CGI to adapt in real-time to incorporate ongoing changes.
Comprehensive Modeling: A full 3D model of the entire environment was developed to allow flexibility in creating various perspectives and accommodating potential additions such as walkthrough animations or 360° virtual tours.
Strategic Value Delivered
Enhanced Tender Submission: The high-quality CGI and animations provided a compelling visual narrative that strengthened Avolta's proposal to Perth Airport authorities.
Design Validation: The visualizations facilitated stakeholder engagement and approval processes by accurately depicting the proposed retail spaces.Moodie Davitt Report
Operational Efficiency: Arteconi CGI's internal library of airport-specific 3D assets expedited the modeling process, ensuring timely delivery without compromising on quality.
Outcome
Avolta successfully secured a seven-year extension of its duty-free contract at Perth Airport, extending operations through 2031. The revamped retail spaces, designed with sustainable principles and integrated technology, aim to redefine the travel retail experience for passengers. Avolta World
